Writing successfully is, alas, not the same as writing elegantly or flawlessly. Writing must be molded and reshaped according to the goals, the potential audience, and your likely competition. Each piece of writing comes with its own challenges. Prior experience in other genres and formats helps, but will likely not be enough.
Most writing challenges can, however, be met by treating writing as a process. The main goal of any of my workshops is to show you the nuts and bolts of the process and help chart the course of action required for a particular format/genre. The workshops break the writing process down to the following:
Do’s
Don’ts
Must-haves
Nice-to-have
Dispensibles
Don’t even go there
Apart from writing workshops, I also offer training on qualitative research methods. There is a lot of interest in storytelling and crafting persuasive narratives but not enough training/instruction on conducting qualitative interviews, curating life-history narratives, and being mindful of ethics, (personal) data protection, and confidentiality. My ultimate goal is to support writers in both cogent delivery and data collection.

The workshops are strictly upon request and the rates can vary. It all really depends on the needs of the writer (does not have to be one of the above necessarily); whether they have a peer group or would this be a one-on-one session; and how much time they need to or are willing to invest in the process.
